A Texas delegate in Chicago for the Democratic National Convention (DNC) was robbed at gunpoint by men wearing balaclavas early Wednesday morning, according to local reports.
The victim, 25, was walking with a friend on the 100 block of West Randolph in downtown Chicago around 2 a.m. when a black Range Rover pulled up next to them and two armed men got out, CWB Chicago reported.
The suspect then reportedly stole the victim’s wallet and room keys. It is unclear how much cash or cards were in the man’s wallet.

The gunmen then crossed the street and robbed a man and a woman, CWB Chicago reported, citing a Chicago Police Department (CPD) spokesperson.
Police said the suspects had committed a series of robberies in the city and issued a warning about their criminal activities, according to the Chicago Transit Authority. The report said the two men were black, dressed in black clothing and wearing balaclavas, and were between 5’7″ and 5’9″ tall.
CPD confirmed local reports that a 25-year-old man was the victim of a robbery, but it was unclear if the victim was a Democratic National Convention delegate. No injuries were reported, police said.
Seconds later, a 37-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman were robbed by the duo, police said.
The DNC 2024 Joint Information Center told Fox News Digital that it does not comment on specific victim profiles.

The robbery, which took place on the third day of the Democratic National Convention, came the same day that Chicago Police recorded nine shootings, one of which was fatal, and a stabbing.
That compares with five shootings on Tuesday that left 12 people dead, one of them fatal, and eight shootings on Monday, four of them fatal.
The weekend before the convention, 26 shootings occurred in downtown Chicago, leaving a total of 30 people dead, five of them fatal.

The violence came after police largely succeeded in containing unrest inside and around the convention site after hundreds of anti-Israel protests continued for three consecutive nights.
Former President Donald Trump has harshly criticized Democrats and Vice President Kamala Harris over their criminal records, and Chicago has a higher murder rate than New York City, despite having a population one-third that of the city, according to police statistics.
