Texas in the NCAA WBB Tournament
The Texas women’s basketball team has learned the fate of the NCAA tournament.
The Longhorns became the No. 1 seed of the NCAA Tournament and were announced on Sunday. Texas was the top seed in four straight NCAA tournaments from 1985 to 88, making Texas the first in a back-to-back season.
In the NCAA Tournament, Texas will be holding first and second games at the Moody Center.
On Saturday, Texas will face either High Point or William & Mary. The winner of that game is moving forward to playing either No. 8 Illinois or No. 9 Clayton on Monday.
Texas (31-3) is seeking its first national championship since 1986. The Longhorns have not reached Final Four since 2003, but the team has been in the Elite 8 qualifying round for three of the past four seasons.
What species did Texas get in the NCAA Tournament?
Texas won one of the four No. 1 seeds in the bracket of the NCAA Tournament. Texas was considered the third best No. 1 seed as the bracket quadrant as the top seed of the “Birmingham 3” quadrant.
Texas will participate as one species in South Carolina (30-3), UCLA (30-2), and USC (28-3). UCLA was selected as the top-wide seed of the competition of 68 teams.
Who will play in the first round for Texas?
I don’t know about the Longhorns at the moment. Texas will play either High Points (21-11) or William & Mary (15-18). These two teams will play for Austin on Thursday, with the right to face the Longhorns as 16 seeded.
What time will Texas play in the first round?
Regardless of who plays in the first round, the game is expected to chip off at 8:45pm. The game will follow the Illinois-Clayton showdown at Moody Center, which is scheduled to begin at 6:15pm.
The first round game of the Longhorns will be aired by ESPN 2.
Where will Texas play in the first round?
Texas will host the first round of the NCAA Tournament at Moody Center. In the case of a victory, UT will return to home court on Monday.
Texas is 15-0 at home this season.
If Texas survives the first two rounds, it travels to Birmingham, Alabama in a sweet 16 showdown (and possibly an elite 8 game). The Final Four and National Championship Games are being held at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.
