AUSTIN — The Texas Longhorns are celebrating a win over the Oklahoma Sooners with more than just wearing a golden hat.
After Saturday’s 34-3 win over OU in the Cotton Bowl, Texas linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. and edge rusher Valin Soler carried old Baker Mayfield Oklahoma jerseys to midfield and a Texas white flag. I stuck the pole in there.

It’s possible Hill Jr. and Sorrell planned this in advance, but no one knows where they kept Mayfield’s jersey. Either way, it’s clear the act was personal to Hill Jr., who later referenced Oklahoma linebacker Danny Stutzman’s infamous T-shirt on Twitter.
“Texas is not afraid of anyone,” Hill tweeted.
After last year’s win over Texas, Stutzman unveiled a T-shirt with the words “Oklahoma fears only God. Texas fears Oklahoma” written on the back, and this is what Hill Jr. had in mind. is obvious.
“I feel like it was the right thing to do for me,” Hill Jr. said. “I saw everything they posted last year, so I feel like it was the right thing for me to do. It was just to give them some exposure, to make the team better and make us feel good.” It just needed to give me something. ”
Hill Jr. recorded a game-high 11 total tackles (3.5 for loss), two sacks and one forced fumble. Soler recorded one sack of his own and two total tackles.
Texas safety Michael Taaffe also joined in on the fun, and the team’s official X (Twitter) account also shared a photo of him planting a flag in midfield. He totaled three tackles and one sack.
The Longhorns will look to get things rolling next Saturday when they host the Georgia Bulldogs in Austin.
