(Texas Scorecard) – The Biden-Harris administration has allowed well over 500,000 illegal aliens with criminal records to enter the United States.
U.S. Rep. Tony Gonzalez (R-23) published U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement data on social media platform X.
Newly released information shows that 662,566 noncitizens on ICE’s national records have criminal records. These numbers include 13,099 murder convicts, 15,811 sexual assault convicts, and 13,423 weapons crime convicts.
“We have known for far too long that the Biden-Harris border crisis poses a direct threat to the American people,” Gonzalez said in a press release. “The truth is clear: illegal immigrants with criminal records are flooding into our country.”
Beyond the alarming new data, the Texas lawmaker said it should also serve as a “wake-up call” to the federal government and cities across the country that maintain sanctuary policies.
Gonzalez first requested the data on March 13, when he wrote a letter to President Joe Biden and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas asking for answers to several questions about illegal immigration.
The letter asked for information on the number of noncitizens charged with crimes by local governments out of the 7 million reported cases listed on ICE’s registry. The letter also asked how many noncitizens have been convicted of crimes and released into U.S. communities.
After more than six months, Gonzalez finally received a response.
“It’s time for Washington to move beyond rhetoric and move toward results,” he said. “Americans have the right to feel safe in their communities. As an embezzler, I will do everything in my power to ensure that ICE has the resources it needs to deport noncitizens with criminal records.” must be a top priority.”
“The Biden-Harris administration is also helping to clean up the mess caused by policy failures. They have the ears of sanctuary city mayors — urging them to reverse course and prioritize the safety of Americans. It’s time to encourage it,” Gonzalez concluded.
