Ted, another runner for the Texas Senate, has sent mailers and mailers supporting him to a mysterious pop-up super PAC, including one calling incumbent Sen. They are demanding that they stop sending out so many campaign ads.
Libertarian Texas Senate candidate Ted Brown accused the Western Culture Preservation PAC of distorting some of his views, particularly on immigration, and accused his name of appearing in ads he did not approve. He expressed his regret at the fact that
“The problem is they misunderstand my message. And I don’t want people to think I’m like one of those right-wing anti-immigrants when I’m not,” Brown said. published it in the Post.
“I don’t want people to think I’m giving them hits on TV,” he added. “I’m a very polite person.”
“Save Western Culture” PAC has emerged as a late-game force in at least a dozen competitive House races, as well as Senate races in Texas and Maryland, and has often targeted people seen as spoiler candidates. I support it.
The group registered with the Federal Election Commission on Oct. 11, giving assurances that donor information would likely be kept confidential until Election Day.
According to available evidence, Save Western Culture has so far spent more than $1 million supporting Libertarian candidates in close races. Republican operatives suspect left-wing groups are behind the PAC.
Based on flyers and ads seen by the Post, Save Western Culture has generally sought to portray Libertarian hopefuls as more pro-Trump than the close Republican candidates.
When The Post previously attempted to contact Save Western Culture PAC, the number listed on the FEC form was inactive.
Brown was also unable to contact the PAC, but told the Post the message he sent.
“This is Ted Brown, the Senate candidate you are ‘cooperating with’ on your own spending ads,” his message to the PAC read in part. “That’s really something I don’t want to name. I don’t know what else you’re thinking and I know you can’t coordinate with candidates, but I don’t like attack ads.”
Brown said he has faced backlash in recent days from voters unhappy with some of the ads the PAC has funded in his name.
One of the leaflets distributed complained that “the border is full of illegal aliens and criminals,” ridiculing incumbent Mr. Cruz and suggesting he needed to “get tough.”
The angry Texan emailed Brown a photo of the commercial he claimed appeared on the Weather Channel from his Roku device, calling it “in really bad taste” and “one of the best I’ve ever seen.” One of the most offensive advertisements ever.
The spot similarly explores Mr. Cruz’s masculinity, calling him the “Cuckold King,” and “Cuckun,” a play on Cancun, where Texas endured a cold snap in 2021 that caused widespread power outages. bashed the Lone Star state senator over his infamous trip to . . He also suggested that Mr. Cruise’s wife, Heidi, must think of him as a “cuckold soy boy.”
PAC-backed mass email praises Brown as ‘conservative liberal’
“The Texas way of life is under threat. As illegal aliens cross the border, the WOKE MOB is destroying us. “We supported the plan to have them stay in the country,” the text alleges.
“Ted Brown is running for Senate and has momentum. He will end immigration invasions with free market solutions.”
Mr. Cruz will likely be the No. 1 target for Democrats in the Senate this term, as his seat is widely seen as the most competitive of any incumbent Republican. He faces stiff competition from Rep. Colin Allred (D-Texas).
The newspaper has reached out to both Mr. Cruz and Mr. Allred for comment.
“I wouldn’t call it cheating. I mean, all’s fair in love and war. It’s like Politics 101, trying to suppress other people’s votes,” Brown recalled. “If you’re going to ship something with my name on it, I’d like it to reflect my opinion.”
Still, at this stage, Brown does not expect to take legal action against the mysterious super PAC.
Brown also dismissed concerns that he could serve as a spoiler in the Senate race.
“They say that about Libertarian and Green Party candidates all the time,” he said. “You can’t mess with something that’s already rotten and rotten.”
Maryland Senate candidate Larry Hogan’s team is outraged by Save Western Culture PAC’s interference in the election, with a spokesperson saying, “Lying to voters while asking them to trust us is a violation of our policy.” “This is a slap in the face to the most sacred democratic process.”
This week, the Post obtained audio from a phone banker associated with PAC highlighting PAC’s antics against Hogan.
“Lockdown Rally is a rallying cry that Biden won the 2020 election, shut down our workplaces and schools, called President Trump outrageous and unacceptable, and that conservative values are ridiculous and dangerous.” ,” the conference call said.
Notably, the candidate the PAC is supporting in this race, Libertarian Mike Scott, similarly told the Post he has no ties to the PAC. Additionally, Scott has been a fierce critic of former President Donald Trump.
In Iowa’s 1st Congressional District, Republican Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks was hit with an ad from a group bashing her for supporting legislation to aid Muslim countries.
“Marianette Miller-Meeks believes our tax dollars should go to Islamic State,” the group’s flyer charged.
Cook Political Report rates this seat as a toss-up for Republicans.
“RINO Mariannette Miller-Meeks supported using our tax dollars to arm the Islamic State and provide weapons to the Islamic State. American leaders must contain the spread of Islam and support Sharia We must fight to stop the law,” a text message from the PAC read.
“Each election cycle, the national Democratic Party establishes underground financial groups whose purpose is to confuse voters and field third-party candidates who have no chance of winning,” said Mike, director of communications for the National Republican Senatorial Committee. Berg previously told the Post.
“This appears to be much the same, and voters should reject this dishonest tactic.”
