Saif Maurice Tajiran, 33, is charged with making terroristic threats, which is aggravated to a hate crime.
BELLAIRE, Texas — A Spring man has been arrested after police say he threatened to kill Jewish people in the Houston area.
Bellaire police were contacted about the threat in October.
The owner of Houston Jewish Funeral Home in Bellaire told investigators he received a disturbing email with the subject line “Beezlebub.”
The email said: “I want to help bury more Jews, so please accelerate the process of burying more Jews. Could you please find me a job? If you hire me, I can work quickly and You’ll also save money. Think about how great this is. ” Save more time, more (Jews!) I can cut off more (Jews) if you want, and we (Jews) can get rich together. ) has no morals or values and would only know what we care about. As for ourselves, Yeshua Yahweh is perfect! ”
Police had no trouble finding the suspect. The suspect used his own email address and also included a phone number. The officer called the number and when a man answered, he said he was calling about a text message he had received. Police said the man began telling officers how he could bury more Jews and repeated other statements made in the email.
They traced the number in the spring to Saif Tajran.
Investigators obtained a warrant to access Tajran’s iCloud account. Apple sent an encrypted version in December, they said. After decoding it, they matched the information with Tajran’s phone number and address.
Police arrested Tajran on suspicion of making terrorist threats, which escalated to a hate crime.
His bond was set at $50,000.
