TYLER, Texas — An East Texas teenager was among four gang members accused of shooting a man in the leg during a planned marijuana sale in November, documents say.
Jesiah McNeil, 19, remained in the Smith County Jail Tuesday on three counts of aggravated robbery, one count of engaging in organized criminal activity, one count of possession of marijuana, and one count of unlawful possession of a weapon after his arrest Monday night. has been done. According to an arrest affidavit, McNeil was one of four people involved in a Nov. 2 robbery in which another man was shot in the leg. Jail records show three other people named in the documents have not yet been arrested. Investigators identified all four as members of the West Side Rollin’ 60s Crips.
The shooting victim told police that he gave his step-son and his friend a ride to meet the person who owned his step-son’s money. The victim did not know what business his son-in-law was doing with the four men, but was aware that the men were planning to rob him, the affidavit states. There is.
The victim reported that one of the men put a gun to her head and said, “You’re about to die, give me everything.” The victim refused, so the men’s rifles did not fire. The victim then put his car in reserve and backed away, but the men then fired shots into the car, striking him in the leg, documents state.
The victim’s son-in-law said in an interview that the meeting consisted of McNeil purchasing a half-pound of marijuana from his son-in-law for $750. But the sale turned into a robbery, the affidavit states.
Further investigation and police personnel led police to identify McNeil and three others as suspects. Detectives also determined that all four were connected to the West Side Rollin’ 60’s Crips.
