LINCOLN, Nevada (KLKN) – Dodge County prosecutors charged a Texas man on Friday in connection with a murder in eastern Nebraska.

Brian Jesselinck, 39, faces accusations of first-degree murder, is a habitual offender, tampering with physical evidence, false reports and intentional cruelty towards animals.

On April 12, lawmakers responded to a crash in the area of Highway 30 and County Road 5 near North Bend.

When they got there they found 24-year-old Billy Meadows, covered in blood in a nearby field.

The pasture died of a gunshot wound at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, according to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said that Jesselinck killed the pasture and he deliberately tortured the puppy.

“These are deeply unsettling allegations that involve illegal filming of human life and the cruel treatment of animals,” Dodge County Attorney Pam Hopkins said in a press release. “Our office is committed to ensuring that justice is pursued thoroughly and fairly in accordance with Nebraska law.”
