Texas needs to step up the green game after saying it’s one of the top 10 states in the US that aren’t doing it right on Mother Earth.

Wallethub researchers have looked into all 50 states and are considered in a variety of data on environmental health and environmental friendlyness. It ranged from green buildings per capita to energy consumption shares from renewable resources.
Ultimately, the results ranked Texas as the ninth greenest state in America. The lonely star state ranked not only in energy and gas per capita, but also in the lowest air and water quality.
Meanwhile, Vermont was named the greenest, while West Virginia was the lowest.
“It’s important that all Americans play their part in supporting greener living and protecting our environment,” said a Walethub analyst. “But in some states it’s much easier than others. For example, if a state doesn’t have a good infrastructure for alternative fuel vehicles, it’s much more difficult for residents to adopt that technology.
