AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has announced the arrests of two individuals who were on the Texas 10 Most Wanted list. DeWallen Knowles was arrested on August 17th and Antioneo Sims was arrested on August 27th.
Duwarren Donta Knowles, 36, of San Antonio, was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, DPS Special Agents, and officers with the San Antonio Police Department assigned to the Texas Anti-Gang (TAG) Center. Knowles has convictions for bodily injury to a family member, theft and terroristic threatening, and had been wanted since February 2024 for child sexual assault. He has ties to the Treetop Piru Bloods gang.
Antioneo Rayen Sims, 43, of Houston, was arrested following a tip. DPS special agents and officers located and arrested Sims. Sims was convicted of sexual assault of a child in 2008 and has multiple convictions for failure to register as a sex offender. Sims was wanted since January 2024 for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements.
According to DPS, a Crime Stoppers reward will be paid for Sims’ arrest. Texas Crime Stoppers, funded by the Governor’s Office of Public Safety, offers cash rewards for information leading to the arrest of Texas’ 10 most wanted fugitives, sex offenders, and criminal illegal immigrants. So far in 2024, DPS and other agencies have arrested 31 people from those lists, including 11 sex offenders, 10 gang members, and four criminal illegal immigrants.
To receive a cash reward, tipsters must provide information in one of three ways: by calling the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477), by submitting a web tip through the DPS website or by submitting a tip on Facebook. All tips are anonymous and tipsters will receive a tip number in exchange for using their name.
DPS investigators work with local law enforcement agencies to select fugitives for inclusion on the Texas 10 Most Wanted list. The current list, along with photos, can be found on the DPS website. Authorities urge the public not to attempt to apprehend these fugitives as they are believed to be armed and dangerous.
