The Texas Rangers have announced that the club has signed free agent right-handed pitcher Luke Jackson (#77) to a one-year contract covering the 2025 season. To make room for Jackson on the 40-man roster, the club placed right-handed pitcher Josh Schborz on the 60-day injury list (recovering right shoulder surgery).
Jackson, 33, was selected by the Rangers in the first round of the 2010 MLB draft (45th overall), and returned to his original club after seeing his first big league action against Texas in 2015-16. I did.
He averaged 10.0 strikeouts per nine innings in 2024, combining over 52 ERAs with San Francisco and Atlanta and 5.09 ERAs 4-3.


Jackson pitched to a 2.19 ERA (3 ER/12.1 IP) on his final 12 outings with the Braves in August and September last year.

With today’s move, Rangers will remain at the club’s major league roster limit of 40.
