Gov. Governor Greg Abbott on Monday celebrated Texas ranked the best state in business for the 21st consecutive year by the CEO magazine, based on an annual survey of one of the nation’s leading CEOs.
“Texas offers businesses the freedom to succeed, which is why the country’s CEOs have ranked and counted Texas as the best state for business for over 20 years,” Gov. Abbott said. “Texas is where entrepreneurs know they can throw their visions and achieve them. A successful CEO who trusts our business-friendly climate, a highly skilled and diverse workforce, and an outstanding quality of life across all parts of Texas’ best, will boost Texas for red tape and partners to promote innovation in Texas.”
The best states for business rankings are determined by an annual survey conducted by the CEO’s assessment of the business environment, workforce and quality of life of each state. Texas has been breaking the country every year since its CEO began rankings.
Last week, Gov. Abbott signed the law on Senate Bill 14, also known as Texas Dozi, to establish the Texas Bureau of Regulation and Efficiency. The law is based on the Governor’s Small Business Freedom Council recommendations, which cuts regulations and sets strict standards with new regulations that could be expensive for businesses, ensuring they remain at their best for businesses of all sizes.
