Democrat Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett in an interview Sunday claimed that the self-critical nature of the Democrats would allow them to run the leading candidates.
Biden dropped out and approved Harris on July 21 after a disastrous June debate over President Donald Trump. The former vice president quickly received enough support to become a Democratic nominee before being officially nominated on August 2nd.

Crockett made a point about “politics within Texas.” Democrats’ self-criticism raises internal conflict, but it says that exceptionally “qualified” candidates also arise.
“I think what you see as a whole with Democrats is that we are really difficult for ourselves. I think we are everyday people looking in the mirror and seeing all the imperfections. “And that’s a blessing and a curse. It’s a blessing in the sense that we’ve raised some of the most qualified people to take office because we’re so critical. That’s a curse, like we’re fighting each other.”

“That’s something we don’t see from Republicans. They look in the mirror and don’t criticize themselves at all. That’s why they ended up with a 34-count convicted felon sitting in the White House. “When it comes to running on a democratic ticket, I make sure to get the best of the best, but again, it’s a double-edged sword.”
Voters were concerned about Biden’s mental vision long before the June debate, but Republicans had repeatedly raised doubts about his fitness during the 2020 campaign after much apraxation. However, Democrats rushed to Biden’s defense, calling him “sharp” and praised his cognitive abilities ahead of the June debate.
Furthermore, when Harris ran for president in 2020, she only won 844 votes in the Democratic primary, which secured zero representatives in the process, according to archived election data.
In a November 26 podcast, political analyst Mark Halperin argued that neither Biden nor Harris should run for president in 2024 due to their weaknesses.

“She should know herself in terms of knowing her, and I don’t know her very well. I’ve known her for a long time. She’s not good at making difficult choices under pressure,” Halperin said. “It’s a job description for the president and presidential candidate, and she said, “This will require a lot of very difficult decisions on how to talk about Biden Harris’ records. The biggest vulnerability that Joe Biden has been our failed record, along with his loss of sight and his age.”
