As the cost of higher education becomes increasingly expensive, Texas Southern University is committed to helping eligible students in need of financial aid focus on getting good grades, not money.
In a news release, TSU announced the launch of a new awards program called Tiger Promise. Eligible students will have their tuition covered as well as any mandatory tuition not met by federal/state aid or scholarships.

What does TSU’s Tiger Promise not cover? Late fees, late registration fees, overtime credit fees, class retake fees, drop fees, and fees for ancillary services such as parking fees and citation fees.
“At TSU, we believe all students deserve the opportunity to pursue their dreams without the burden of increased financial stress,” said Dr. Latisha Addison, executive director of Student Financial Success. “We understand that finances are a determining factor in where students go to university. We are pleased to offer this promise. We look forward to supporting all of our future Tigers with this program.”
