McKINNEY, Texas, Aug. 19, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Texas State University, The University of Texas at Dallas and Collin College have launched the Collin College Academic Alliance. This innovative partnership gives area residents the opportunity to earn an associate degree and seamlessly complete a bachelor’s degree* while saving thousands of dollars. The program, with full academic support from Collin College and its partner universities, allows students to complete their Texas State University or The University of Texas at Dallas degree entirely in Collin County.
Located on the Collin College Technical Campus in Allen, this alliance partnership offers students an exciting opportunity that includes savings of approximately $20,000. Students can take many Collin College courses that are approved to apply toward a university degree program.

This new initiative offers the community a new model of higher education.

Collin College serves as the Alliance’s central location, providing space, advising, and a full complement of student support services. Alliance students also have access to dining facilities, a library, and an on-campus bookstore, as well as central student support services, including academic advising, career services, counseling, and disability services.
“We are excited to take our partnership with Texas State University and The University of Texas at Dallas to a new level,” said Dr. Neil Matkin, chancellor of the Collin College District. “This partnership will create a truly streamlined pathway for Collin College degree-earners to top programs at great universities while also delivering significant cost savings.”
Alliance College students enjoy a variety of partner university perks, from library services to football game tickets, as well as the opportunity to join Collin College student organizations and attend local arts and sports events.
Additionally, Collin College plans to work with its academic alliance partners to explore additional programs, such as educational certificate programs, in the near future.
