Las Vegas, Nevada (News Release) – Las Vegas College Baseball Classic All Tournament Team selection Damian Bravo hit a home run 3-3 with three RBIs, but Texas Tech scored a 12-8 score in the final game of the Las Vegas College Baseball Classic in eight innings Sunday at Las Vegas Ball Park.
Bravo went 8-15 a week as two home runs, five RBIs and three runs increased their season average to 0.429.
In the set-off, Texas Tech (2-7) was limited to just eight chances on the plate as the game was shortened to accommodate a drop time at Washington (4-8) at 6:30pm PT.
After the Red Raiders took a 3-1 lead, the Huskies took five leads on their third four runs and their fourth five runs, responding to five innings.
After the team traded zeros 1-2-3 innings in the fifth, the Red Raiders were drawn within 11-7 with a two-run double from another all-tournament team’s selection.
Villeneuve also surpassed .500 over the weekend. The first baseman went 12-6 with three runs, three RBIs and three doubles.
UWS’ Josh Emanuels pitched 1-2-3 to give the Red Raiders a brief rest after retiring the first two batters of the eight-inning Bravo home run.
Until the final out, designated batsman Antoneri Sabatere wobbled on the seventh pitch he saw from Emanuels. Savattere spent two days of four days to raise the season average to an additional 0.400.
