Texas – A poll by Texas Public Opinion Research (TPOR) released Thursday provides detailed explanations of the Texans’ opinions on the 2025 legislative conference.
The poll examined opinions on school vouchers, potential THC bans, and public perceptions of people like President Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
(Texas poll)
A key point from the polls is that affordability is at the pinnacle of the Texans’ mind. Approximately 37% of respondents rank it as a top priority, with education being close to 28% and immigration being close to 24%.
The majority of voters oppose the school voucher bill, with one-third of respondents supporting it. Gov. Governor Greg Abbott has been trying to pass the voucher program for several years and marks it as an emergency item to pass in this legislative session.
In previous sessions, similar proposals for school vouchers failed due to concerns about the operation of the program and the impact of the law primarily on per-thief funding.
In Texas, 48% of voters want a voice on the state’s THC policy. The complete ban is supported only by 13% of voters, compared to 36% who want to keep it legal.
Texas has been focusing on issues for the past few months, reluctantly reassuring political status, not much favorable to Republican leaders. The nation also saw a decline in favour of both Trump and Musk during this change.
Musk’s favor rating is less than 10 points than zero, but Trump has dropped from 12 points above the zero in November to less than three points in March, as well as zero.

Between November and March, the number of Texans identified as conservative fell by 5%, down from 43% to 38%.
“The poll highlights the state’s affordability crisis is the best for the Texans, but few don’t think that elected officials are working on it effectively. “The data also shows Cornyn is vulnerable ahead of next year’s reelection bid.
Most Texans believe that affordability and cost of living should be the best for lawmakers in this session. Only 11% of state lawmakers think they are dealing with the issue well, with 72% saying that they are not.
Here are all the issues addressed in the polls with weights that are important for the Texan:
Affordable prices and cost of living: 37% Education and public schools: 28% Immigration and border security: 24% Social security and Medicare: 21% Tax: 16% Abortion and reproductive health issues: 15% Healthcare: 14% Economic growth and job creation: 12% Infrastructure: Electric grid and electric grid 11% Oil and gas production: 5% Public safety: 4% Climate change: 2%/ref/ref
To facilitate the cost of living, 93% of Texans supported lower property taxes, while 85% increased their investment in affordable housing.
“In earnest in the 2025 legislative session in Austin, this new data sheds light on top issues that Texans want to address their elected representatives.” “State legislators need to focus on voter priorities and recognize that they want Texans to address bread and butter issues such as affordability, healthcare, border security, social security, and Medicare.”
