Austin, Texas – No. 1 Texas won their 13th straight conference series victory at the Cotton Holdings Throne Star Showdown at UFCU Dishfarkfield on Saturday afternoon.

The victory made The Longhorns (36-5, 18-2 Sec) a superior team of 18-2 in league play since the SEC expanded to a 30-game slate in 1996.

Texas limited the Aggies (24-18, 8-12 seconds) to tally both for the first and ninth with just five hits.

Left-handed Luke Harrison (4-0) threw six innings of one-run baseball, hitting six innings midway through.

Righty Thomas Burns punched out three batters in one inning, running their fastballs up to 99 mph, filling the gap in the final frame.

Southpaw Dylan Volantis (11) retired the only two men faced on eight pitches to lock down the Longhorns’ first series victory over Texas A&M for the first time in 15 years.

At the plate, two-base player Ethan Mendoza led the fees in his 20th multi-hit performance, leading the team.

Mendoza hit a solo shot in the third game and booked an offensive explosion with his seventh run-scoring double.

The sophomore finished 3-4 with two RBIs and launched their first homer from March 4th.

Texas closes its seventh sweep of the year with a weekend finale on Sunday. The first pitch is set at UFCU Dishfarkfield at 3pm.
