After a woman discovered a pit bull narrowly avoiding a narrow, avoiding car around her apartment early in the morning, she turned to the internet for advice.
Redditor /u /xhellraiserxx, from Fort Worth, Texas, shared his dilemma on Subreddit’s “Dog Advice,” explaining he doesn’t know what to do. After social media users encouraged them to keep dogs, she posted an update in which she received 10,000 upboats.
“Thank you to everyone who encouraged the whole “she chose you.” I was contradictory as if I were an adult saying “I can’t afford another pet literally”! “The little one also said, “We can’t keep her!” At one time, it was the push I needed,” she wrote.
Newsweek contacted /u /xhellraiserxx for comments via Reddit. Could not confirm the case details.
In her original post, she explained that she saw a woman walking the pit bull the day before while her neighbor was searching for its owner. The poster assumed that the person would give up on the search and let the dog loose within the gate complex. Worried about the dog’s safety, she took her to the vet where she didn’t find a microchip. The Pitbull “very scary” people and she was raw in the lap of the poster when the vet tried to scan her.
According to the poster, the appearance of the dog’s nipples made her puppy recently and her ears were too short. However, she looked pretty, and her dew claws were trimmed, suggesting that at some point she was being cared for.
Ear docking, also known as crops, is the surgical removal of part of a dog’s ear. It is usually performed when a puppy is a puppy, and is generally performed on a pit bull. Although some breed standards have historically encouraged ear docking for working dogs, this practice is controversial and is illegal in many places due to animal welfare concerns .
In the case of pit bulls, ear docking can be done to create a more “intimidating” look, but can have a negative impact on the dog’s communication and well-being.

The poster found a pit bull on Saturday and all the area’s animal shelters were closed until Monday, so she wasn’t sure what to do next.
“What do I do? I make the indication and hope someone will insist on her? I have a dog and a cat and if she is dog or cat aggressive I don’t want to risk rushing to introduce to her, and I can’t leave her. When I go to work (I work in the evening), it’s not very safe so I’ll give her a vet I just take it with me,” she wrote.
Despite her efforts, no one responded to her “Pet” posts or requested a dog at the shelter. She said she called every Pitbull Rescue Center within a two-hour radius, but only discovered that everything was capable or had a long waiting list for a new rescue.
Over the next three days, she suffered from sleepless nights and worried about the fate of the dog when she left her “red list” inevitably charged.
Redlist refers to when an animal is placed on the shelter’s euthanasia list due to overcrowding, medical issues, or behavioral concerns.
Many shelters have limited resources and are at increased risk of euthanizing unclaimed animals, particularly those from stigmatized breeds, including pit bulls, if not adopted or rescued in time.
In the face of this reality, the poster has made a life-changing decision.
“I decided that it had to work and sent a message to the landlord about adding her to the lease,” she wrote. “She’ll regain breed restrictions at the expense of her arms and legs with her monthly pet rent, but she’s worth it!”
The poster featured a “Big Eyed” puppy, which she called Winniffred for short.
“She’s all completely friendly, especially her new brother Igor, and she absolutely adores her. She literally wants non-stop,” the poster added.
