Head coaches Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns are on a hot streak of recruiting top athletes. Texas has won four five-star signers in its 2025 recruitment class. As for current high school juniors, only three have announced their commitments to Texas, including the four-star Dia Bell, but the Horns miss out on the second-place player nationwide.
Five-star plus offensive tackle Ihheanacho said ON3’s Hayes Fawcett has recruited the final 11 options, seven of which are SEC schools. The Baltimore native narrowed his list to Miami, Maryland, Miami and Pennsylvania, along with the Southeastern Conference Program, Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, LSU, and Texas A&M.
According to ON3’s predictions, Iheanacho is 26% likely to commit to Georgia, while Pennsylvania continues with a 17.2% chance.
Texas is already committed to the class of 2026 in offensive tackle position at the three-star Recruit Max Light in Melissa, Texas. He is the Longhorns’ latest commit, and announced his decision on February 5th.
Texas extended the offer to Iheanacho, but On3 ranked Longhorns’ chances below 1%. Currently ranked 8th in the 2026 recruitment and 5th in the SEC, with a recruitment score of 91.38. In the top-ranked class of 2025, Texas and Sarkisian didn’t get off to a hot start, but they ultimately controlled the recruitment scene.
With the national signature day for the class of 2026 not taking place until December, Texas has plenty of time to make more movements.
