Austin – As No. 5 Texas Longhorns await a choice on Sunday, he has the overall seed of the NCAA Tournament, even after one bracket scholar still lost the Longhorns as the overall seed of the NCAA Tournament. South Carolina 1 in the SEC Championship. ON3 parentheses scholar Charlie Cream still believes that Longhorn has a resume claiming one of the top four species.
Despite not winning the SEC Tournament Championship, Cream defended the Longhorns. Texas is season 31-3 with two losses coming to South Carolina and the other to Notre Dame working overtime. The teams where both teams have lost the Longhorns are ranked number one at some point this season. The Longhorns also claimed share in the SEC regular season championship.
UConn is currently ranked third in the country after winning the Big East Tournament and claims the number one seed. The other three No. 1 seeds are probably South Carolina, USC and UCLA.
“If you really are boiling it down, I think it’s back to Texas,” Cream told ESPN conference call. “And Texas has a better victory. Obviously, they play in the SEC, and UConn plays in the weak Big East. But UConn also lost to Notre Dame. UConn lost. Texas is winning in South Carolina so UConn does too. So does UConn. So it’s not that different about such a common opponent.
“But in short, I think Texas just has more quality wins. The schedule is very compatible. UCONN’s non-conference schedule is better. The rest of Texas seasons are much better.
Texas lost only one game in SEC play and lost their way to South Carolina. However, when the Gamecocks came to Austin, the Longhorns won. The SEC is known to be one of the toughest meetings to play this season, and in its first year in the league, the Longhorns came out relatively unharmed.
Now, everything Longhorns can do is hope that the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee feels the same way about its record as a cream.
