Federal agents announced this week that they had arrested two documented members of the Venezuelan prison gang Torren de Aragua in Aurora on charges of murder and aggravated kidnapping in connection with a Texas killing.
Carl Ruiz Zambrano Bolivar, 26, and Jonata Nahin Toro Gonzalez, 22, who were in the United States without authorization, were arrested on September 26, according to an ICE news release. was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
A third alleged Tren de Aragua member, Ehiquer Morales Mendoza, 38, was arrested in connection with the alleged murder of Nilzlie Enrique Arnaud Petit, 33, also in North Texas. He was arrested on October 11 in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
“By working together and successfully finding and apprehending fugitives across state lines, we are working to dismantle violent criminal networks and put an end to the illegal activities they permeate.” It sent a powerful message of unity,” said Travis Pickard, acting special agent in charge of ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations Division in Dallas.
Authorities plan to extradite the three suspects to Texas to face murder charges, but a fourth wanted gang member, Johnny Jesus Martinez Serrano, 29, remains in custody, according to a news release. He is said to be on the run.
