The application deadline for Upskill Texas is June 30, 2025.

Texas Insider Report: Austin, Texas – The Texas Labor Commission (TWC) is currently accepting applications for the Upskill Texas program, which will benefit Texas businesses, which will benefit them in building a highly qualified workforce.

Upskill Texas allows companies to invest in training solutions that address the demands of evolving industry and remain competitive in the market. The initiative will fund it to support technology training for employers who are introducing new technologies, expanding into new markets, introducing new services or restructuring to better serve their customers.

Through Upskill Texas, businesses can receive a refund of up to $3,000 for each worker trained under the program. To qualify, your business must have at least 100 employees in Texas and provide a 50% matching contribution, including wages and benefits.

Eligible applicants include private, non-commercial, or for-profit businesses, and public health employers. Businesses can also designate a community or technical college, third party trainers, or workforce development committee to apply on their behalf and administer grants.

The initiative focuses on covering up incumbent workers, so the majority of trainees must have been employed in the business for more than six months. The project must be between $150,000 and $500,000.

The application is reviewed on received orders and funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so businesses are encouraged to apply early.

The application deadline for Upskill Texas is Monday, June 30th, 2025.
