El Canyon. TEXAS – West Texas A&M’s Meadow Galentine and Joseph Oleva scored wins on the first day of the Colorado Running Company Pre-Holiday Invite & Multi held at Mountain Lion Fieldhouse on the UCCS campus.

Amarillo athlete Kylie Benton placed fourth overall in the heptathlon with 3,232 points, followed by freshman Erin Martin with 2,654 points. Five different Lady Buffs competed in the 60-meter hurdles heats, with Taylor Gonzalez (second, 8.98) and Temitope Adenuga (third, 9.01) qualifying for Saturday’s final.
In the women’s long jump, Lady Cuesta placed 6th overall with a jump of 5.59 meters (18 feet 4 inches), followed by Hasely Huffman in eighth place (18 feet 2 inches to 5.54 meters). Bella Kenny was the only Lady Buff to compete in the pole vault, and the junior finished 10th overall with a height of 3.07 meters (10 feet 3/4 inches).
Galentine, from Anson, Texas, won the weight throw with a height of 63 feet 4 inches (19.31 meters), followed by Hope Gray in third place (16.19 meters – 53 feet 11/4 inches). Galentine has the best record in Division II this season.

In the men’s pentathlon, which begins on Saturday, Romet Fertel leads the Estonian race with a total of 3,238 points, followed by David Richards in sixth place (2,989 points).
In the men’s weight throw, Luke Holcomb placed fourth with a throw of 17.11 meters (56′ 1 1/2 inches), followed by Brock Brodecky in 11th place (43′ 9 1/2 inches to 13.35 meters). Lance Oettinger and Spencer Keyes finished in the top five in the pole vault, with Ottinger third at 4.35 meters and Keyes fourth at 4.20 meters.
Oleba dominated the long jump, with Nigeria winning with a jump of 7.71 meters (25 feet 31/2 inches), followed by Cecile Dossou in eighth (6.90 meters) and Gael Chavez Robles in ninth (6.84 meters). ), followed by Alexander Horner Wheeler. Oleva finished 10th (6.76 meters) in Division II indoor competition this season.
