Texas A&M Football Winter Transfer Window Dates: When is the last day for Texas A&M football players to enter the portal?
As you can imagine, the winter months of the transfer portal have been another very tough experience for Texas A&M football. The Aggies have addressed some needs fairly accurately and are the clear winners this cycle, but things are still moving at a breakneck pace.
Last year was a particularly confusing year for Aggie fans. One of the big factors on this front was the fact that A&M executives chose to fire Jimbo Fisher in early November, which extended the amount of time it took for Aggie players to enter the transfer portal. That meant Aggie players could enter from that moment until the portal closed for all other teams, a period of nearly two months.
Thankfully, the Aggies are in the same position as other teams this year, as no coaching firings have occurred this season. But then a question arises. what kind of ship is that? When does the boat finish? This analogy is in some ways broken.
When is the last day for Texas A&M players to enter the transfer portal?
According to the NCAA’s transfer rules and calendar, the last day for Division I FBS players to enter the transfer portal is Saturday, Dec. 28. This means Aggie players who are not scheduled to participate will have until tomorrow evening to enter. they want to leave.
Of course, there is a nine-day spring period from April 16 to April 25, 2025. We’ve seen some outbound activity this past year, but only two notable inbound ones. The most important is LB Solomon DeShields.
However, I have a feeling we won’t see more contributors heading to this window portal. As things are vetted in spring training, perhaps another slot will open up, but I don’t think the Aggies will.
