Airline pilot arrested on plane in Houston
According to CBS News, the plane, which was heading from Houston to Dallas, made an unexpected turn before taking off. After Flight 3195 landed at the airport, police boarded the plane before it took off. CBS News reported that police in the area were waiting at the gate to arrest the pilot.
The pilot, Seymour Walker, was wanted on suspicion of assault and domestic violence. After all passengers had disembarked, officers entered the plane and arrested Walker. Video of Walker being escorted off the plane was also posted to social media.
Frontier Airlines releases statement regarding pilot arrest
With the plane’s pilot in police custody, passengers were worried their flight would depart on time, and Frontier Airlines told CBS News that unfortunately the next flight would not depart.
“This incident occurred prior to boarding beginning for Flight 3195, scheduled to depart IAH for Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW). A replacement crew member was not immediately available, so the flight was canceled.”
Because the flight was unexpectedly canceled, passengers were offered three options: a credit, a full refund, or the opportunity to rebook on the next available flight to their destination.
