The day after the USC Trojans lost 49-35 to Notre Dame to end the regular season, the Trojans heard some bad news on the recruiting front.
Five-star wide receiver Jerome Miles, who has been committed to USC since Sept. 18, announced on social media that he has decommitted from the Trojans and has begun recruiting.
Interestingly, shortly after news broke that Miles had resumed his recruitment, On3’s Steve Wiltfong recorded a prediction that Texas A&M would lead Corner Canyon by a wide margin.
Wiltfong wasn’t the only recruiting expert to record predictions that Miles would arrive in College Station. At 247Sports, Tom Roy, Blair Angulo and Greg Biggins all have crystal ball predictions for the Aggies to acquire Miles.
It’s no surprise that Miles is expected to commit to Texas A&M. Before he enrolled at USC, they were among the finalists. Miles’ Corner Canyon teammate, quarterback Hiraman Kasuga, has committed to Texas A&M. Kasuga is a four-star quarterback in the Class of 2026.
Biggins wrote that Miles has the talent to be one of the best wide receivers in the class.
“Miles is one of the top receivers in the country and has great upside. He has a rare combination of size, speed, and body control…He is an athletic 6-2, 210-pound He has a big cap. He has strong hands and catches the ball well. There aren’t many pass catchers who have a longer tenure than Miles. It’s a possibility,” Biggins said.
After the loss of Miles, the Trojans currently own the No. 17 recruiting class in the 2025 cycle. It’s been a busy few weeks for USC recruiting as the Trojans lost and gained multiple commitments. Most notably, rookie five-star quarterback Julian Lewis was traded from the Trojans to the Colorado Buffaloes.
For the time being, USC has only one 5-star prospect, Corona Centennial quarterback Huthan Longstreet. Four-star receiver Tanuk Hines becomes the Trojans’ highest-rated commitment at wide receiver. Corey Sims and Romello Ison, both three-star prospects, round out the list as USC’s only wide receivers.
