Sunday was a little more stressful for men’s basketball in Texas.
Entering the SEC tournament, Texas was in the bubble and listed as “first four outs” in several predictions. “Before they were defeated in the Tennessee quarter-finals, the Longhorns were listed as the ‘last four’.
However, the pain in March arrived in the form of Boise finding a way to the Mountain West Conference Tournament Championship with Colorado. The Rams already exist as the top seed in the tournament.
While we can’t make heads or tails as to what the Select Committee will do, no one has a clear vision of what will happen to North Carolina in Texas and its similar circumstances.

Jeremy Palm has the Longhorns who have missed the tournament due to the amount of loss. Certainly, other teams took part in the tournament with records similar to the 19-15 Longhorns. Temple did it in 2016 with a 8-10 meeting record. But that was before the introduction of the quad system. Palm also missed the tournament to North Carolina.
Athletic
According to Joe Rexrode, Longhorns is considered the “last four” team. So they’ll find the final place to play Indiana and Bracket. North Carolina is listed as the “first four.”
Fox Sports
Michael Dekusy has the Longhorns as the “first four outs”, while the Tar Heels are the “last team.”
