Texas Mutual Insurance Company, a leading provider of workers’ coverage insurance in the state, is awarding a $100,000 grant to Kilgore University (KC) to continue funding the university’s Risk Management Institute, which provides workplace safety and health courses to community employers, employees and the general public.

This is the 18th consecutive year that Texas Mutual has given the university a $100,000 grant to support the Risk Management Institute.

“We are pleased to announce that we are pleased to announce that we are pleased to announce that we are offering a range of services and services that will lead to a wide range of services,” said Brenda Kayes, president of KC. “This funding will allow our risk management program to continue to expand, further providing safe and successful knowledge and skills for Kilgore and employees across the region.”

Annual funding from Texas Mutual allowed Kilgore College to expand its course offering. In 2025, the university is working on implementing a new course on corporate emergency management planning. Additionally, the university is working to include online safety courses to better serve students who cannot participate in these courses in person.

“We are pleased to announce that we are committed to providing a wide range of services,” said Eric Brukin, vice president of safety services at Texas Mutual. “For over 20 years, our dedication to these universities and their communities has been demonstrated through grant funding. The ongoing education of Texas employees is extremely proud of our investment and support.”
